Classic Car Consignment: FAQ's
Q- What’s your cost of your classic car consignment service?
A- We charge a flat rate of 10% of the sale or $2,500 whichever is greater.
Q- What are the marketing or up-front fees?
A- Zero!! We pay all marketing fees whether your vehicle sells or not. This saves you over $500.
Q-Do I bring my car to your classic car dealership?
A- No, we will come out to your location for the initial vehicle intake, photos, and video. Your vehicle can stay with you throughout the sales process.
Q-How long does it take to sell my classic car?
A- Every vehicle is different but on average it typically takes 90 days or less from start to finish.
Q-How do you market my classic car collection?
A- Being a classic car dealer, we market your vehicle on over 500+ sites worldwide and work with several auction houses and other resources to get your vehicle sold quickly. We are dealers on all the major classic car and collector car for sale websites.
Q- How does shipping work?
A- We work exclusively Ship Your Car Now and a couple other companies to get your vehicle shipped worldwide. The vehicle will be picked up from your location or an agreed upon location once you have received payment. Shipping is usually 3 to 5 days for pick up.
Q- Can I advertise while under your classic car consignment program?
A- Not during the 90-day consignment period. We put a minimum of $300-$500 into each vehicle’s marketing plan and want the advertising to be authentic. Multiple for sale ads with multiple sellers is a red flag for some buyers and could potentially have a negative effect.
Q- How is payment and title transfer handled?
A- Our classic car dealership takes all the worries out of receiving money from out of state and overseas buyers. We handle all payments from the buyer. We will then get the seller paid and pick up the title and any documentation for the sold vehicle and overnight it to the buyer for you. We will bring a bill of sale for you to sign for the buyer as well at that time. If the person is in the state of MN, we will go directly to the DMV for title transfer.
Q- Do you have a brick-and-mortar location?
A- No, not at the current time. In today’s market, 99% of buyers see the classic car for sale online, making their initial purchasing decision based on what they see online. Being an internet-based classic car dealer, we have a strong, proven sales strategies that continues to grow our business every year without the overhead of an in-person showroom.
Q- Do you offer financing?
A- Yes, we work with several of the country's top collector car finance companies to help you get into the vehicle of your dreams. Our top three are JJ Best, Woodside Credit, and LightStream Financial.
